This image was taken in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. The zoo was 30 cents entry fee, poorly maintained but allowed great access to the animals.
The light really has a depressing effect on the ape, the hunched posture and the faint shadows of bars really add to this image.
Thoughts??

The depth of emotion coming from this is startling.
You can't help but feel sorry for this poor creature. I love the colour coming through from the wall too. Great shot.
I agree with Jason on this, you really do feel for this once mighty creature. Are zoo's like this really beneficial?
